we contacted david potts in an attempt to get lyrics and ideas and suggestions from him to try to get some more ideas in to the song.

this was what we wrote

hello,
i represent a group of students from long road sixth form college, we are taking A2 media and for our coursework we have to create, shoot and edit a music video. we were given a list of songs to choose from and these were which i had to do as a music video, we have chosen your song, "got to be someone," although we have to pitch our ideas to our teachers it seems increasingly likely that we will be using your song as our idea, we were wondering if we could be sent a copy of these lyrics as a start as we our unable to find them and need to lipsynch to the music.

secondly we were wondering where you are based as we may incorporate this into our video.

we also were wondering if you had any suggestions for our video, being the bloke who wrote the song you have the idea to what you meant behind the lyrics and if there was any suggestions that could be made in relation to the video.

we would appriciate a reply as soon as possible as we have limited time to complete our coursework.
